Embracing a Greener Future:

How Our Sustainable Practices Power Positive Change

by Tina Coker AIFD CFD AAF PFCI

At our business, sustainablility is not just a buzzword, it's a way of life.  We are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and reducing our carbon footprint.

One of the ways we achieve this is by using electric vehicles for our delivery service.  By opting for electric vehicles, we are significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting clean transportation for our flower bouquets.

But that's not all:

  • We go the extra mile by recycling vases to minimize waste.  Instead of throwing them away, we clean and reuse them for future floral arrangements.  This not only reduces landfill waste but also saves resources that would have been used in producing new vases.
  • We are taking steps to reduce plastics in our operations.  Our bamboo card picks are a great example of this commitment.  These eco-friendly alternatives to traditional plastic card picks are biodegradable, ensuring that we minimize our impact on the environment.
  • We believe in using every resource efficiently.  That's why we mulch our stems to create landscape mulching and composting material.  The natural mulch helps retain moisture in the soil, suppresses weed growth and promotes healthy plant growth without relying on synthetic chemicals.

By incorporating these sustainable practices into our business operations, we strive to make a difference and inspire others to do the same.  Who said being eco-friendly couldn't be fun?

As  they say in the movie You've Got Mail...."Daisies are such a friendly flower!"   If I had to pick a flower as my personality type I'd hope to be a daisy.  They have a fresh friendly nature that is cute and natural looking.  The one thing I like most about daisies is that they don't pretend to be soemthing else.  They are happy about being a daisy so they stand up strong and proud against more delicate blossoms in a bouquet.  They don't have the elegance of the rose, the complexity of a peony or the distinctive look of a tropical bird of paradise.  But they do have longevity, simplicity and beautiful shape. Everytime I design with them, it reminds me how important it is to be the best possible me I can be!  Focus on the qualities that make you friendly, strong and proud.  Aspire to be the best possible daisy you can be.
